Discover one of South America’s lesser-known names on one of our fantastic Bolivia holidays. Travellers to this land-locked country enjoy life-affirming moments on tours that sweep from the wildlife-rich Amazon to glistening Andes mountains to shimmering salt flats.
Bolivia is home to just 11 million people. It is perfect for those who want to get off-the-beaten-path and discover an incredible variety of scenery, indigenous cultures and adventure. The cities are vibrant with everything from witches’ markets to cable cars and fine food.
Bolivia is blessed with some of South America’s most beautiful and least visited mountain ranges. Hiking in Sajama you could be spotting condors from a thermal hot pool after a day’s spectacular walk. Many folk climb Huayna Potosi – our professional guides can help you bag a 6,000m Andean peak. Wherever you trek in the Cordillera Real, you can pretty much guarantee peace and tranquillity with just you and some locals around.
Among Bolivia’s most famous attractions are 4×4 tours to the Uyuni Salt Flats. In the dry season these high-altitude salt pans dry out to reveal an unforgettable blanket that covers the land. In the rainy season, the flats become an enormous mirror to the skies. Dali-esque rock sculptures, twinkling night skies and multi-coloured lakes await visitors to this arid and harsh land. It’s not empty, though – flamingos, viscachas and more animals call the salar home.
La Paz is often called the highest capital city in the world, although Sucre is officially Bolivia’s capital. La Paz is the seat of government, but what’s to worry about in this bustling, Andean city. On clear days, it is framed by the beautiful Huayna Potosi mountain, seen ever more clearly if you take the cable car to its highest point. Witch markets, moon-like valleys and energetic people are just part of La Paz’s story.
Sucre, the capital, is a UNESCO-listed site thanks to its beautifully maintained white, colonial architecture and plethora of museums. It’s here Bolivia sealed its independence and the Casa de la Libertad is a must-do. The famous mines at Potosi are a few hours down the road, a town with a very important part in Bolivia’s history, present and future.
Near Cochabamba you find Torotoro. The national park is criss-crossed with dinosaur footprints and beautiful lava-formed crescented hills and beautiful waterfalls. Among these patterned paradises, live several remote communities, speaking one of Bolivia’s 36 official languages.
In the verdant Amazon to the east, our guides can help you look for monkeys in Madidi National Park. Pink dolphins may be spotted in the wider rivers of the pampas, as well as caiman, macaws and much more.
Bolivia holidays are not complete without a visit to Lake Titicaca and the shoreside town of Copacabana. From here, visit the Island of the Moon and the Island of the Sun, the supposed birthplace of the Inca civilisation.
Because Bolivia remains a little off most traveller’s radars, you’ll be guaranteed a warm welcome, wherever you visit.

Below you will find a few of the many attractions Bolivia has to offer for your holiday.
The gateway to the Bolivian Amazon lies at the lively town of Rurrenabaque.
Motorised canoes will take you into the rich and verdant realms of the Madidi National Park, a hub of ecotourism in the Bolivian Amazon basin.
On a network of paths and waterways you can immerse yourself in the hot and humid tropical paradise that is the rainforest.
Wildlife such as howler monkeys and pink river dolphins, as well as a colourful indigenous culture, are a magnet for those who like to experience not only the Andean climates of Bolivia but to venture further into the depths of this fascinating country.
The Cordillera Real of Bolivia is a range of awe-inspiring snowy peaks just south of La Paz.
The towering peaks of this mountain range, dominated by Illimani (6,400m/20,997ft), Illampu (6,368m/20,892ft) and Ancohuma (6,427m/21,086ft), form a magnificent barrier which separates the Altiplano from Bolivia’s extensive rainforest.
The range is criss-crossed by ancient pilgrimage and trading routes and gives avid trekkers plenty of options to escape civilisation into the incredibly dramatic high Bolivian altitudes.
In the Condoriri Range you still won’t meet many fellow hikers but will find yourself in the company of majestic peaks, high altitude passes with stunning views, grazing herds of llamas and alpacas and soaring condors.

We had a great trip! It was so nice that everything was arranged and taken care off, so we could just enjoy it and spent time with the three of us. The whole trip was full of highlights and I could not name one thing I did not like.

The Lares Trek! This was the most physically challenging thing I've ever done but also one of the most rewarding! The scenery was incredible, the guide was excellent, the food was comparable to a nice restaurant at every meal and the other trekkers will be long-time friends! I liked the small group size, the knowledge and professionalism of the guide and the very hard-working horsemen and cooks.
